The native Spinulose Wood Fern can grow up to 2-3 feet high and has a vase shape with a long fronds which have stand-out texture in the natural woodland. These native ferns grow well in wet wooded areas and also can thrile in medium or moist soils. This native fern will not do well in clay soils or in full sun areas. The spinulose wood fern is both deer and rabbit resistant. This would be a great native plant in a shaded landscaping around your house if the soil conditions are right or in a native or woodland garden.
